Beginning an Engagement
Engagement begins with a confidential introductory conversation.
The purpose of this conversation is to understand what you are navigating and to determine whether a counsel relationship would be useful. If there is mutual alignment, an engagement invitation follows.

Engagement structure reflects the nature and duration of the situation.
Private Counsel Engagement
Counselhouse is primarily structured as an ongoing private counsel relationship.
Engagement begins with an initial three-month term and continues month-to-month by mutual agreement. The relationship is sustained through regular connection rather than session-based, allowing conversation to occur as needed as situations evolve.
Clients engage for continuity of judgment and context over time rather than defined deliverables or hourly time. Conversations typically take place remotely, with in-person meetings available when appropriate or preferred.
Private Intensive Engagements
In some situations, engagement begins with a focused intensive. Intensives may also occur within ongoing engagements when circumstances call for deeper focus.
An intensive provides consecutive, dedicated multi-day time with flexible structure based on what emerges. This allows for building context quickly, clarifying the situation landscape, and identifying forward paths during periods of significant transition, complexity, or inflection points. Intensives may take place in person or remotely depending on circumstances.
The format of engagement adapts to what the situation requires.
Fees & Structure
Engagement is structured as a retainer reflecting availability, continuity, and prioritization rather than hours or deliverables.
Fees are discussed following the introductory conversation once fit and scope are clear.
Fit
Counselhouse is most appropriate for individuals navigating high-stakes situations who value discretion, depth, and honest thinking over speed or prescribed solutions.
It is less suited for situations requiring operational consulting, structured coaching programs, clinical support, or legal expertise.
This work often sits alongside legal, financial, executive, or therapeutic advisory relationships — without replacing them.
Counselhouse works with a limited number of clients at any given time to ensure depth, discretion, and continuity.
